Install Krater as an app
Krater is a Progressive Web App (PWA): a real app you install straight from your browser — no app store, no download. It works on iPhone, iPad, Android, Mac, Windows, and ChromeOS.
What you get

The installed app opens even with a spotty connection and keeps recently loaded screens and images available. Chatting and AI generation still need an internet connection.
How to install
The fastest path on any device: open krater.ai/install and follow the steps for your platform. Already signed in? Open your profile menu and tap Install app — or tap the floating Install Krater bar when it appears.
iPhone and iPad (Safari, Chrome or Edge):
- Open krater.ai in Safari. On iOS 16.4 or later, Chrome and Edge work too.
- Tap the Share button. In Chrome and Edge it sits in the address bar.
- Scroll down and tap Add to Home Screen.
- Tap Add.
Android (Chrome):
- Open krater.ai in Chrome.
- Tap the menu (⋮) in the top-right corner.
- Tap Add to Home screen or Install app.
- Confirm with Add or Install.
If the browser offers it, you’ll also see a Quick Install button on the install page that does this in one tap.
Desktop (Chrome, Edge, or another Chromium browser):
- Open krater.ai and look for the install icon on the right side of the address bar.
- Click it, then confirm Install.
- Krater opens in its own window and appears in your applications.
Mac (Safari):
- On macOS Sonoma or later, open krater.ai in Safari.
- Click File in the menu bar, then Add to Dock.
- Click Add. Krater appears in your Dock and Launchpad.
Earn 15 credits for installing
Installing the app counts as an onboarding task under Settings → Earn. Complete it to collect 15 credits.
