Perplexity: Deep Research Timeout (sonar-deep-research)

The sonar-deep-research model runs an extended multi-step research workflow that can take several minutes per query. API clients with default 60-second HTTP timeouts will receive a socket closure error before the research completes. This is model-specific — sonar and sonar-pro work fine because they are faster. The Perplexity MCP server documentation specifically lists this as a known issue with recommended timeouts of 600,000ms (10 minutes) for the research model.
