What Gamma actually offers students
Gamma does not run a student, educator or non-profit program. Education pricing exists only as a merged request thread on Gamma's public feedback board - a team member replied that non-profit pricing makes sense, but there is no program, price or date.Coupon aggregators advertising a Gamma student rate are listing codes that were never meant for general use - or never existed. Gamma technically supports promo codes at checkout, but they are issued to partners and campaigns, not published.
What students do instead
- Use the free plan deliberately. The 400 sign-up credits do not refresh monthly - draft your outline first, then generate, so credits go to final output not retries.
- Annual billing is the biggest real saving. Gamma's own figure is 28% off monthly - larger than any coupon you will find.
- Referrals add credits. A free account can earn up to 2,000 credits through referrals.
If you are not eligible - the cheaper route
Gamma Free covers small decks (10 slides per prompt) - fine for occasional class presentations without paying.
And if what you actually need is AI help across the board - writing, research, images, video, coding - a single-tool discount is still a single tool. Krater's student offer takes 15% off for a year on a workspace that bundles 500+ models for a flat $20/month list price. Compare Gamma's full pricing with Krater's plans before deciding.
