DeepSeek actively blocks or throttles access from VPN exit nodes, particularly for the login and registration flows. This is confirmed by multiple user reports: disabling the VPN immediately restored access. The block appears to be IP-reputation-based and is likely part of DeepSeek's DDoS mitigation. It is most pronounced for non-China VPN endpoints but has also been reported for US-based VPN servers.
