Gemini: Quota Exceeded (429 RESOURCE_EXHAUSTED)

Google's Gemini API enforces three types of limits simultaneously: RPM (requests per minute), TPM (tokens per minute), and RPD (requests per day). Rate limits apply at the Google Cloud project level — not per API key — so creating multiple API keys does not increase your quota. Free tier RPD limits for Gemini 2.5 Pro have been as low as 50 requests per day in 2025. Daily quotas reset at midnight Pacific Time.
