How to Delete Your Gemini Account (Permanently)

Step-by-step: delete your Gemini account the right way — cancel billing first, export your data, then remove the account permanently.

How to Delete Your Gemini Account (Permanently)

How to delete your Gemini account

  1. Two different things: delete Gemini activity, or delete the whole Google account.
  2. For Gemini data only: go to myactivity.google.com/product/gemini and choose Delete > All time.
  3. To disable Gemini Apps activity going forward, toggle "Gemini Apps Activity" off on the same page.
  4. To delete the entire Google account: myaccount.google.com > Data & privacy > "Delete your Google Account".
  5. If you pay for Google One AI Premium, cancel it first at one.google.com > Settings > Cancel membership.

In the Gemini app: tap your profile photo > Gemini Apps Activity > manage or delete history there.

Before you delete

What happens after you delete

Gemini conversations are kept up to 18 months by default unless you delete them; deleting them is permanent. Deleting the Google account removes Gmail, Drive, Photos — everything.

Deleting removes your account; it does not get you a refund for the current billing period. If you are leaving because of the price, there is a cheaper way to keep the same capability.

Leaving because of the price?

If Gemini was costing you a standalone subscription, Krater gives you 500+ AI models in one workspace for a single $20/month Pro plan. One subscription replaces several single-model subs. Compare plans on our Gemini pricing breakdown or see every model we support.

FAQ

Can I recover my Gemini account after deleting it?

No. Deletion is permanent on Gemini. A few products (X, Microsoft) hold the account in a deactivated state for about 30 days first, but once the window closes it cannot be restored.

Do I get a refund when I delete my account?

Deleting the account does not trigger a refund. Cancel the subscription first and check Gemini's refund policy — most AI products do not refund unused time.

Is deleting the same as cancelling?

No. Cancelling stops future billing but keeps your account and history. Deleting removes the account entirely. Most people should cancel first, keep using the free tier until the period ends, then delete.
