How to unblur an image with AI
A blurry image is missing information: the camera moved, the focus landed behind the subject, or the file was scaled down and compressed so many times that the edges dissolved. Classic sharpening filters only raise the contrast along the edges that are left, which is why they make blur look harsher instead of clearer.

Missed focus
The whole subject is soft while the background may be crisp. AI restores edges and texture on the subject and keeps the depth of field natural.
Motion blur
Streaks from a moving camera or subject. The model reconstructs the underlying shapes; light streaks usually clear completely, heavy streaks improve a lot.
Pixelation and compression
Blocky edges and JPEG artifacts from a small or heavily compressed file. Upscaling with detail reconstruction is exactly the right fix.
Low light noise

How to get the clearest result
- Use the original file, not a screenshot of it; every extra save adds compression the model then has to undo.
- Crop to the part you care about before uploading so all of the 2x resolution goes where you need it.
- If a face is the priority, make sure it fills a good part of the frame; tiny faces have less detail to work from.

How do I unblur an image for free?

Can AI really unblur a photo?
Yes, within limits. The model has learned what sharp faces, text and textures look like, so it can infer and rebuild detail that light to medium blur hid. Extremely heavy blur where the subject is unrecognisable cannot be recovered exactly, but even those images become noticeably cleaner.
Does it work on faces?
Faces are what the model is best at. Eyes, skin texture and hair are reconstructed naturally, without the plastic look of a simple sharpening filter, and the identity of the person is preserved.
Will it make blurry text readable?
Usually, yes. Signs, labels, receipts and printed pages that are soft or pixelated come back with clean letter shapes. Text that is completely illegible in the original may still be approximated rather than exact.
What is the difference between unblurring and upscaling?
