We compared the vibe coding tools that matter for non-developers: Krater, Lovable, Bolt, v0, Replit and more. Pricing, what each builds well, and which to pick for sites, apps and games.
The best vibe coding tool depends on what you are building. Krater is the best pick for most people who want one subscription that builds sites, apps and games, hosts them, supports custom domains, and includes 500+ AI models for everything else. Lovable is a polished single-purpose builder if you only make web apps. Bolt is strong on full-stack prototypes, v0 on React UI, and Replit on more technical projects with real backends.

Three different products get lumped under the term: AI app builders (prompt to a running, hosted app), AI code editors for developers (Cursor, Windsurf, Claude Code), and general chat assistants where you copy code out yourself. This comparison covers the first group, because that is what most people searching "vibe coding tools" need. If you are a developer, see our AI coding agents comparison instead.
| Tool | Entry price (monthly) | Builds | Hosting and domains | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Krater | $20 (Pro); publish from $49 (Ultra) | Sites, web apps, games, scripts; image, audio, video in the same workspace | krater.site subdomain plus your own custom domain (Ultra: 2, Max: 5), SSL auto, rollback | All-rounder; people who want AI chat, media and agents too |
| Lovable | Free tier; Pro ~$25 | Polished web apps | Lovable subdomain; custom domains on paid plans | Clean web apps for non-devs |
| Bolt.new | Free tier; paid from ~$20 | Full-stack web prototypes | Netlify deploys | Full-stack experiments |
| v0 by Vercel | Free tier; Premium ~$20 | React/Next.js UI components | Vercel deploys | Developers building React UIs |
| Replit | Free tier; Core ~$20 | Real projects with backends, databases | Replit deployments | More technical users |
| Base44 | Free tier; paid tiers | Apps with built-in auth and database | Included hosting | App-like projects without setup |

Lovable and Krater both produce the most visually polished first versions for landing pages and dashboards. Bolt is strong on wiring (forms that actually submit, databases that work) but plainer visuals. v0's components look excellent but assume a Next.js codebase, so it is really for developers.
Every tool iterates by chat. Krater's Studio adds what most tools miss: a live preview with desktop, tablet and mobile widths, a visual file inspector, diffs between every version, hand-editing, and one-click rollback to any earlier version, including on the live site.
This is where buying decisions get made. Krater publishes to a permanent krater.site subdomain and lets Ultra and Max users connect their own domain with one CNAME record and automatic SSL. Lovable supports custom domains on paid plans but routes through external services for some setups. Bolt and v0 deploy to Netlify and Vercel, which means another account and dashboard to learn. Replit hosts but domains cost extra credits. If "on my own domain" is the goal, compare the full chain, not just the build price: how custom domains work.
Single-purpose builders give you the builder. Krater's subscription also covers the rest of the product: 500+ models for writing, research, image, video, voice, agents and integrations. If you would otherwise pay for ChatGPT, Midjourney or a transcription tool separately, bundling usually wins on total cost.
We also keep dedicated comparisons: Lovable alternatives and Bolt.new alternatives.
Take one real idea (not "a to-do app") and give the same first prompt to two tools. Judge three things: how close the first version is to what you imagined, how many iterations it takes to fix the first broken thing, and what the published URL looks like. Twenty minutes of testing beats an hour of reviews, yours truly included.
For a first project, Krater or Lovable: both produce polished results with minimal setup. Krater wins if you also want chat, image and video AI in the same subscription.
Most have a free tier for trying generation, but publishing to a real URL and a custom domain is almost always on paid plans, roughly $20 to $50 per month.
Yes: /build generates apps, sites and games from prompts, previews them live in Studio, and publishes with hosting and custom domains, alongside the rest of the AI suite.
Vibe coding produces real code, so it is more flexible than drag-and-drop blocks but needs more testing discipline. Low-code is safer for rigid business apps; vibe coding is faster for everything else.
Vibe coded projects are real files, so in principle yes, but each platform has its own conventions and hosting flow. Expect to re-export and re-publish rather than port seamlessly.
Give the same prompt to Krater and one other builder and compare the first versions yourself. Open Krater, type /build and describe what you want. Publishing to a live URL and connecting your own domain is included on Ultra ($49/month, 2 sites and 2 custom domains) and Max ($119/month, 5 and 5), together with 500+ AI models for everything else you do.
Pick the tool whose strengths match your project: Krater for all-round value with hosting and domains included, Lovable for a polished single app, Bolt or Replit for technical experiments, v0 for React work. Then test one real idea before paying.
