Gemini for business is bundled into Google Workspace per user per month. What you actually get, what it costs on top of Workspace, and when a flat multi-model workspace is cheaper.
Google no longer sells Gemini to businesses as a standalone product - it is bundled into Google Workspace plans (Business Standard and above), priced per user per month on top of the Workspace seat itself. For a company already paying for Workspace, Gemini is the path of least resistance. For a team that is not, buying Workspace seats just for AI is an expensive detour - a multi-model workspace covers Gemini plus the models it does not include, at a flat rate.

Google folded the old Gemini Business and Gemini Enterprise add-ons into Workspace itself. Today the business path is: buy Workspace seats (Business Starter, Standard, Plus or Enterprise), and AI features come bundled at increasing depth - Help me write in Docs and Gmail, NotebookLM, Meet notes and transcripts, and access to the Gemini app with more usage on higher tiers.
The details matter: the Workspace seat price and the AI features are one bill, so "Gemini business pricing" is really "Workspace pricing." Check the current Workspace Business Standard/Plus per-user price on workspace.google.com before doing the math - Google has adjusted the bundle pricing since folding AI in.
Three structural limits. First, per-user pricing again: Workspace + AI is billed for every seat, so the accountant who opens Gemini twice a month costs the same as the marketer who uses it hourly. Second, it is Google-only - when Gemini is not the best model for a task (long-form writing often favors Claude, agentic browsing favors others), the answer is another subscription. Third, it assumes Google apps: a team living in Notion, Slack and Figma gets far less from Workspace AI than the marketing implies.
Krater includes Gemini models alongside GPT, Claude, Grok and the rest - one subscription from $20/month, Max at $119/month for a 5-seat team. For a Workspace-committed company, Gemini is essentially free AI on top of seats already paid for; for everyone else, it is paying a per-user fee for a single vendor. Compare Krater plans.

Gemini for business is real value only when Workspace is already sunk cost - then the AI is a bundled upgrade. Buying Workspace seats primarily for AI access is paying per-user tax for one vendor's models. Teams that want Gemini plus the rest of the frontier, without the seat math, belong on a flat-rate workspace.
