How to Connect Google Calendar to Claude, ChatGPT or Any AI Agent

How to Connect Google Calendar to Claude, ChatGPT or Any AI Agent

Every way to connect Google Calendar to an AI: ChatGPT's app, Claude's connector, the MCP route, and the zero-setup option.

How to Connect Google Calendar to Claude, ChatGPT or Any AI Agent

Option 1: ChatGPT's Google Calendar app

  1. ChatGPT → Settings → Apps → Google Calendar → authorize.
  2. Ask things like "what's on my calendar tomorrow" or "find a 30-minute slot with Tom next week."

Option 2: Claude's Google Calendar connector

  1. Claude → Customize → Connectors → Google Calendar → authorize with OAuth.
  2. Claude can read your schedule and create events from chat.

Option 3: MCP server

No official Google MCP server exists for Calendar; the path is a hosted third-party server (Composio and similar):

claude mcp add --transport http gcal <hosted-mcp-url>

For personal use the built-in connectors are simpler. MCP is the route when you want calendar tools inside a custom agent or a client without native connectors.

What connecting Calendar unlocks

The zero-setup version: Krater

Calendar is built into Krater's agent along with Gmail, Drive, Slack and 30+ more. One OAuth connect, then ask; the agent combines it with the other tools when a task needs context. See the Calendar integration.

Privacy note

Calendar is low-risk to connect but reveals who you meet and when. Read access first; grant write access only when you actually want the AI creating events.
